The learing

Within Zaatari there will be a focus on the learning spaces that will provide students with the most peace like education and will show them and expose them to peaceful environments. Mercycorps (2016) outlines creating a peaceful communities as a major part of meeting the needs of the Syrian refugee community. Teaching students about peace is an integral part of building these peaceful communities - "Through investing in adolescents now will yield dividends for decades to come for the peace and productivity so desperately needed in Syria and the region" (MercyCorps 2016).

Group, Collaborative and cooperative:

This learning space will be utilized greatly as it allows the students to come up with communication and group learning skills that are peaceful, logical and promote cooperative environments over environments which involve conflicts. This will  assist students in their abilities to communicate and cooperate with each other and resolve conflict which will help intern develop their peace making skills which are essential as peace talks are often used to try a resolve conflict (Jazeera 2016).

The e-space:

The e-space will be addressed frequently as it allows students to connect to the world around them- to those in similar situations, those who managed to get out of a difficult environment and those that can provide them with support and guidance on their journey of finding and understanding peace. It also will allow students to see environments where there is peace and where there is no peace at all. Students through the e-space can be enabled to connect to the wider community outside of the camp. Through this students can develop social skills and can enhance their overall education about not only peace but a wide range of other topics as well.

The Classroom and School:

The classroom and school environments goal is to be inclusive and support peace for everyone inside and outside it. This means that the future learning space community should not only involve the students within but also those in the surrounding refugee community. The school and classroom environment is designed for peace and for everyone to feel as welcomed, stable, supported, safe and comfortable as possible. Areas will be designed to best allow for students to learn, to cooperate, to play and to be children in an environment that they can trust.
